The Kiwi team has been learning about Matariki, the legends, stars that make up the Seven Sisters and harvesting. We were lucky enough to have a visit from the Manurewa Marae who taught us how to use poi, flax weaving and a waiata. Everyone looked like they had such a great time! Here are a few photos of our experiences and what we learnt.

In the Kiwi Team, we have been learning about healthy eating. We have been discussing food that is healthy to eat a lot of, food that is ok to eat sometimes, and food that is ok for special occasions e.g. birthday parties. Take a look at our food pyramid!

Reading in K3W
Reading has started back up and we have been working on comprehension strategies. One of the amazing groups in K3W were reading about a girl who had an active imagination in the dark and thought there was a monster, but it was just an old potato with roots! So we decided to look around the class and see if we were able to find objects and things that we could mould into a monster and create a funny shadow. Next week we'll see if we can read the instructions and create our own potato monster.

Ashworth or Miss. Wilcox. The students had a lot of fun and they enjoyed working in groups with their peers from the class next door to them. Take a look at some of the fun we had at our new math stations!
